Heathwood Lower School

Heathwood Lower School

Heathwood Harriers Football Club - Currently Closed

Heathwood Harriers Football Club is run by Heathwood parents for Heathwood children.

Training is held every Saturday morning during term time between 9.30am and 10.30am for all year groups.

Future Games, who assist the school with various sporting activities, provide a good structure across the teams helping the volunteer coaches with developing the children’s basic skills and understanding of the game. Future Games also liaise with other schools in the area arranging friendly matches as well as ensuring Heathwood’s participation in various festivals/tournaments.

All training sessions, matches, festivals, match reports and all Heathwood Harriers FC related news is available via the Heathwood Harriers FC’s Facebook Page.

A fee of £2 per child is charged for each session with the subs preferably being invoiced for the school year, as well as a charge for kit (£11 - personalised free). Payment options are available. The monies, along with any raised through the Christmas/Summer Fetes and fund raising activities, are used towards the payment of Future Games, new equipment and anything else Harriers related. Our sponsor, Alltech Signs and Graphics, also very kindly provide all our printing of kit. The first training session is free, with spare boots available for those wanting to give it a try.

Harriers also hold their own friendly games and hold an end of season awards ceremony celebrating the children’s achievements throughout the year.

We would love to welcome a new Class R team for 2020/21 and this depends on whether there are any volunteers to help coach.  Even if you have absolutely no experience in the field, we would love to hear from you.  The Future Games and current parent coaches will be happy to assist while you learn the ropes. If you are a qualified FA coach, then even better!  The role of coach can be shared between several parents if you are unable to commit to every Saturday.  We would also love to hear from you if you would like to assist in any of the other various roles needed to run a successful team, from treasurer, match reporter, communications, or as a general helper.
